Yes! The Basic plan lets you send files up to 5 GB with all core features. Starter and Pro unlock larger file sizes, longer expiry dates, and lower platform fees.

Do I need an account?

You'll need to verify your email to send files — we use a passwordless OTP system, so there's no password to remember. Just enter your email, confirm the code, and you're in.

How do recipients download my files?

Recipients receive an email with a secure link. If the transfer has a price, they pay first, then download. If it's free, they download directly. They can also preview watermarked versions before paying.

Can I protect my transfers with a password?

Yes. When creating a transfer, toggle on password protection and set your password. Recipients will need it to access the download page.

What happens when a transfer expires?

Expired transfers are no longer accessible. Recipients will see a message saying the link has expired. You can set expiry dates from 1 day to 90 days depending on your plan.

When a recipient pays for your transfer, the amount (minus the platform fee) is credited to your ZeFile wallet. You can withdraw to your bank account or Mobile Money at any time.

What payment methods are supported?

Mobile Money (MTN, Orange, Wave, Airtel), bank transfers, USSD, and cards (Visa, Mastercard). Your clients pay the way they already do — no credit card required.

What are the platform fees?

It depends on your plan: on Basic you keep 93%, on Starter you keep 95%, on Pro you keep 97% of each paid transfer. The rate is set when you create the transfer — upgrading later gives you the better rate on new transfers, but doesn't change old ones.

Yes. Files are encrypted in transit using TLS and stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We never share your files with anyone other than your designated recipients.

Can I delete my files?

Yes. You can cancel or delete any transfer from your dashboard. The files will be removed from our servers.

When you'll receive your money after a sale

Funds from a paid transfer land in your ZeFile balance the moment the buyer's payment confirms — typically within seconds for card and Mobile Money. Once they're in your balance, you decide when to withdraw. ## Balance vs withdrawal The platform fee is deducted automatically when the sale lands. So a 10,000 XOF sale on Free shows up as 9,300 XOF in your balance immediately — that's yours. ## Withdrawing Withdraw any amount above the minimum (varies by method) any day, any time. Mobile Money: 5 min to 1 hour. Bank: 1 to 3 business days. ## Holds and exceptions First-time large transactions sometimes get a brief review — usually under an hour. Card chargebacks (rare) can hold the corresponding amount for the dispute period. We'll always tell you if anything is on hold and why.
