Yes! The Basic plan lets you send files up to 5 GB with all core features. Starter and Pro unlock larger file sizes, longer expiry dates, and lower platform fees.

Do I need an account?

You'll need to verify your email to send files — we use a passwordless OTP system, so there's no password to remember. Just enter your email, confirm the code, and you're in.

How do recipients download my files?

Recipients receive an email with a secure link. If the transfer has a price, they pay first, then download. If it's free, they download directly. They can also preview watermarked versions before paying.

Can I protect my transfers with a password?

Yes. When creating a transfer, toggle on password protection and set your password. Recipients will need it to access the download page.

What happens when a transfer expires?

Expired transfers are no longer accessible. Recipients will see a message saying the link has expired. You can set expiry dates from 1 day to 90 days depending on your plan.

When a recipient pays for your transfer, the amount (minus the platform fee) is credited to your ZeFile wallet. You can withdraw to your bank account or Mobile Money at any time.

What payment methods are supported?

Mobile Money (MTN, Orange, Wave, Airtel), bank transfers, USSD, and cards (Visa, Mastercard). Your clients pay the way they already do — no credit card required.

What are the platform fees?

It depends on your plan: on Basic you keep 93%, on Starter you keep 95%, on Pro you keep 97% of each paid transfer. The rate is set when you create the transfer — upgrading later gives you the better rate on new transfers, but doesn't change old ones.

Yes. Files are encrypted in transit using TLS and stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We never share your files with anyone other than your designated recipients.

Can I delete my files?

Yes. You can cancel or delete any transfer from your dashboard. The files will be removed from our servers.

How to set up Mobile Money payouts (MTN, Orange, Wave)

Set up a Mobile Money payout method in two minutes from your dashboard: pick the operator, enter the phone number registered with that MoMo account, verify with the OTP we send, and you're ready to withdraw. ## Where to find it Open your dashboard, go to Account → Payout methods, and click "Add Mobile Money". Pick MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Wave, or Moov Money — whichever account you actually own. ## What we ask for The phone number that's registered with that Mobile Money account. We send an OTP to that number; you enter it to confirm ownership. We never ask for your PIN. ## Withdrawing your earnings Once a method is verified, click "Withdraw" on your balance, choose the amount, and confirm. Funds typically arrive in 5 minutes to 1 hour for Mobile Money — sometimes instant. A small payout fee (~2.5%) is deducted to cover the operator's transfer cost.
